University Boys Basketball Boosters offers competitive club teams during the spring for members of our program. While our basketball program is year-round, scholastic high school basketball largely shuts down in spring, limiting the amount of game experience that the basketball program can directly provide.
In order to fill this need, our boosters provide an option of a club basketball program for our players. The club is parent funded and optional. It competes at the highest levels, playing in top tournaments against teams who compete in the Nike EYBL, Adidas 3SSB, and top independent programs. The purpose of the club program is to provide our program's players an opportunity to compete against top competition within our program's eco-system of offensive and defensive schemes, in essence extending our high school teams into the club space. Our focus is not on wins and losses, but offseason development of players and teams, providing a setting where players get to improve by playing the best and not be concerned with results. It also provides players exposure to collegiate coaches, for those who aspire to play at the next level.
Here is the 2026 Spring Club Schedule for our teams:
17U (Coach Erickson)
Compton Magic Battlezone 3/28 - 3/29
Elite Hoops Association "West Thrilla" 4/10 - 4/12
Elite Hoops Association "West Coast Showdown" 4/17 - 4/20
The Stage "Spring Live" 5/15 - 5/17 *NCAA Viewing Event*
Compton Magic Memorial Day 5/22 - 5/25
16U (Coach Roggin)
Elite Hoops Association "West Thrilla" 4/10 - 4/12
Elite Hoops Association "West Coast Showdown" 4/17 - 4/20
AOG Beach Bash 5/2 - 5/3
The Stage "Spring Live" 5/15 - 5/17 *NCAA Viewing Event*
Participation in the club program is not mandatory, but purely optional. Our program understands the role which club plays in the development of players and does not shy away from it, but has instead chosen to embrace the opportunity it provides and use it to the benefit of our program and its players.
For 2027 the tentative plan is to offer 3 teams, if numbers allow, with a 17U and 15U team competing in the Adidas 3 Stripes Gold Circuit. This is subject to change based upon numbers and evaluation of our competitive level. Regardless, we will at least have our varsity team compete as a 17U club on the circuit.
